Open to non-military and military.  Startup Weekend San Diego and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University are partnering with Google to host the first ever Startup Weekend focused on helping Veterans, Service Members and Military Families bring their ideas for new startup companies to life.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

On Thursday, August 9th there will be the first ever Google for Entrepreneurs Day for Veterans, Service Members and Military Families. A Google team will be on site to host sessions and take questions on Google’s tools for businesses and entrepreneurs. http://g4eveterans.eventbrite.com/

Then on August 10-12th (Friday-Sunday) there will be a special Startup Weekend that brings together the startup and military communities to launch great new startup ideas here in San Diego. http://swsdveterans-WebsiteRegisterButton.eventbrite.com

Startup Weekend (Friday-Sunday) welcomes both non-military and military participants. However, certain ticket types and the Thursday Google for Veterans and Military Families event are reserved for those in the military community.

We’re excited to bring the military community and the public together to help launch new businesses here in San Diego!
